Clickstream Explorer

Explore estimated search and browsing activity for a list of keywords, with a closer look at individual phrases.

Open Clickstream Explorer

The tool opens in your Kwordia account. Dotted links explain terms in the glossary.

Before you begin

Clickstream Explorer uses estimates derived from observed browsing activity. It offers another perspective on keyword demand and behaviour, alongside other research tools. It does not show every search or reveal identifiable people’s browsing histories.

Open Keywords and choose Clickstream Explorer. Prepare a short list of keywords. You can enter up to 100 phrases, with one phrase on each line.

Using this page, step by step

  1. Paste your keywords on separate lines and select the target market. Start with a small related set so the comparison has a clear purpose.
  2. Review the estimate and run the request. The page combines its global and bulk information in the results.
  3. Read the available figures for each phrase and compare related terms. Keep the source and market in mind when comparing these figures with another tool.
  4. Open an individual keyword’s details if you need to investigate further. A detail request can have an additional usage cost.

A worked example

You could compare walking boots, hiking boots, and waterproof walking boots. Differences in the estimates can help you decide which phrase to investigate first, but you still need to inspect the search results to understand what people want.

Understanding what you see

Clickstream data comes from observations and modelling rather than a complete record of all activity. Treat the numbers as estimates.

A difference from another search-volume report does not necessarily mean either report is broken. Their sources and methods may differ.

Common questions and problems

If a phrase has no information, check the spelling and selected market. Limited coverage should not be read as proof of zero demand.

Keep each keyword on its own line and stay within the 100-phrase limit.
