Social Content

Look up available social engagement information for a webpage and see where it has attracted attention.

Open Social Content

The tool opens in your Kwordia account. Dotted links explain terms in the glossary.

Table of contents

Before you begin

Social Content helps you investigate a page address rather than a general topic. It brings together available engagement information from supported social services, which can give you a starting point for exploring how a piece of content has travelled.

Open Trends & Audience and choose Social Content. The form may be headed Social Engagement Analysis. Copy the full URL of the article or page you want to investigate.

Using this page, step by step

  1. Paste the page URL into the form. Use the address of the specific content, not just the website’s home page, when that is what you want to measure.
  2. Review the estimate and run the analysis.
  3. Read the available information for Reddit, Facebook, and Pinterest, then inspect any top sources shown with the result.
  4. Open a source when you need to understand the discussion or context. Use those observations to inform your next content idea.

A worked example

If you published a guide to repairing walking boots, you could investigate that guide’s URL. A discussion around it may reveal questions readers still have, such as which materials are suitable for a repair. That context can be more useful than the overall score alone.

Understanding what you see

Engagement counts describe recorded interactions. They are not a count of unique people, and they do not establish how many readers later became customers.

The viral engagement score is a summary measure. Check the underlying sources before deciding what made the content successful.

Common questions and problems

If the result is empty, confirm the exact URL. Different addresses or limited service coverage can affect the information returned.

A missing count does not prove that nobody shared or discussed the page.
