Anchor text
Anchor text is the visible wording of a link.
Dotted links explain terms in the glossary.
What it means
Anchor text is the visible wording of a link. It gives readers a clue about the page they will reach if they follow it. When you investigate a backlink, the anchor text helps you understand how another website introduces your content.
An example
In a link labelled read our boot-care guide, those words are the anchor text. The address behind the link might be much longer. Some links use an image instead of visible text, so an empty text field does not by itself mean the link is broken.
How this helps you in Kwordia
Read the anchor column on the Backlinks page, then open the source when you need context. A short phrase can mean something different when read as part of the surrounding sentence. Use the source page to understand whether the link makes sense for a reader.
