App Store Optimization
Explore app details and store search results to understand how people might discover an app.
The tool opens in your Kwordia account. Dotted links explain terms in the glossary.
Before you begin
App Store Optimization, or ASO, concerns how an app is presented and found in an app store. Kwordia’s ASO page lets you investigate store information using an app identifier or a search keyword, depending on the task.
Open Channels and choose App Store Optimization. Decide whether you are investigating an iOS or Android app and have the appropriate app identifier ready. The current tools use the US market.
Using this page, step by step
- Choose iOS or Android and the type of investigation you need. Use app details for a particular app or discovery for a keyword search.
- Enter the app identifier when requested. For the rankings form, enter keywords as a comma-separated list, such as walking routes, hiking planner.
- Review the usage information and submit. Some requests may not have an advance estimate.
- Read the returned app or keyword information and compare it with the live store listing before deciding what to change.
A worked example
If you are preparing a walking-route app, discovery searches can help you see how similar apps describe themselves. You can then inspect a particular app using its identifier. This gives you context for writing a clear description of your own app’s actual features.
Understanding what you see
Store results depend on the platform and market. These US results should not be treated as a view of every country’s store.
Finding a keyword opportunity does not guarantee visibility or installs. Consider whether the app really meets the needs implied by the phrase.
Common questions and problems
If an app is not found, check that its identifier matches the selected platform and that it is available in the US store.
Use commas between keywords where the rankings form requests them; this differs from tools that ask for one phrase per line.
