Marketplace Intelligence
Explore Amazon products or Google Shopping results to understand what shoppers are being shown.
The tool opens in your Kwordia account. Dotted links explain terms in the glossary.
Before you begin
Marketplace Intelligence brings together tools for investigating products. Amazon and Google Shopping have separate pages because they use different inputs and return different information. Begin with the marketplace that matters to your question.
Open Marketplace and choose Amazon or Google Shopping. For Amazon product-specific searches, have the ASIN ready; this is Amazon’s product identifier.
Using this page, step by step
- On Amazon, choose Product Search for a keyword search, ASIN Details for one product, Sellers for seller information, or Ranking Analysis for an ASIN-based check. Select the appropriate marketplace.
- Enter the details requested by that tab. Review the estimate before submitting; an additional competitor analysis can create a separate charge.
- On Google Shopping, enter a product keyword and choose the location, results limit, and sorting options. If you use Custom Domain, it means a Google domain such as google.co.uk.
- Read the returned listings and open relevant products to understand their context. Compare products that meet similar needs rather than relying on matching words alone.
A worked example
For a first investigation of waterproof walking boots, use a product keyword to explore the listings. If a particular Amazon product interests you, use its ASIN in the product-specific tools. This keeps a broad search separate from a closer look at one item.
Understanding what you see
Listings are a snapshot of the selected market. Availability, offers, and result order can change.
A product appearing prominently does not reveal its profit or prove that it would sell well for your business. Use these results to guide further investigation.
