Niche Discovery
Find possible topics by choosing an industry or category, even when you do not yet know which keyword to start with.
The tool opens in your Kwordia account. Dotted links explain terms in the glossary.
Before you begin
Niche Discovery gives you a starting point when you know the area you want to explore but cannot think of a useful search phrase. It retrieves keyword ideas for a chosen category. You can then decide which ideas fit your business or the kind of website you want to build.
Open Keywords and choose Niche Discovery. This form asks you to choose a category, rather than type a seed keyword. The current workflow requests English-language keywords.
Using this page, step by step
- Browse the category selector and choose the closest match to your subject. Think about what the audience wants to do, rather than trying to find a perfect description of your whole business.
- Choose the country you want to research and a modest result count. Starting with a smaller list gives you a chance to see whether the category is useful before requesting more ideas.
- Read the usage estimate and submit the search. Scan the returned phrases for familiar needs, products, or questions.
- Pick a few relevant phrases and take them to Keyword Research for more ideas, or to Bulk Search Volume for a comparison. You do not need to use every keyword from the category.
A worked example
Imagine you want to start a website about home gardening but have not chosen a topic. A relevant category may reveal phrases about growing vegetables, caring for lawns, and indoor plants. Rather than trying to cover all three immediately, choose the area you know best and explore its phrases in more detail.
Understanding what you see
A category can include several audiences and purposes. The useful result is a smaller set of ideas that you can explain or serve well, not simply the category with the largest numbers.
Volume and CPC can help compare the phrases you choose. They do not establish whether you have the knowledge, products, or time to make a useful website in that area.
Common questions and problems
If the results feel unrelated, try a neighbouring category. Category labels cannot describe every business precisely.
If you already have a particular phrase in mind, Keyword Research is a more direct starting point.
